On the 1st day of January A.D., 1934, as Mama recalls being told (Registered as the 12th day of March A.D., 1934) at Governor’s Harbour, Eleuthera, Bahamas. Mama’s entrance into the world was swift, for she did not tarry nor belabor her coming. Fred “Ploppy” Stubbs and Florence Stubbs (nee Miller) were proud when they saw what they had produced. At the time of Mama’s birth her mother was working in Eleuthera on the farm.

On April 14, 1912 the Titanic hit an iceberg later sinking and many families were mourned the death of their loved ones. However there was joy on April 13, 1912 on the Island of Salt Cay in Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI), as Melvena and Joseph Kennedy were celebrating the birth of a beautiful baby girl. They named her Rachel Elizabeth. She was last of 11 children, her siblings William, Joseph, Nathaniel, Arthur, Arnold, Flora, Susan, Lyla, Nettie, and Ned have all predeceased her.

Spence Maxwelton Cooper was born on January 10, 1943 in Arthur’s Town, Cat Island to the late Canon Collingwood Cooper and Amelia Cooper. They relocated to Nassau when Spence was about 6 years old and resided in McPherson Street, which was a stone’s throw from St. John’s College; the school he attended.

Phyllis Germaine was born on a Sunday morning August 26th 1945. She was the first child born to Zack and Vera Carey in the village of Tarpum Bay on the island of Eleuthera. From an early age she was an adventurous girl playing the usual childhood games of kick the can and spin the bottle. She could also be found tracking through the fields, whelking on the rocks, fishing, swimming and hiding in her beloved Almond tree.

On 28th of May, 1993 a cheerful handsome baby boy was born to the proud parents of Christopher and Sandra Clarke. They christened him, Cleophus Joseph Clarke but he was affectionately called, “CJ”.
