Winston Rueben Campbell was the third child of seven born the late Mildred and Kelroy Campbell of the Chippingham community. As a boy he attended St. Mary the Virgin and Holy Spirit Churches, and served as a member of the choir and the Boy’s Brigade. He was educated at Western Preparatory, Western Junior and Western Senior schools.As a young man, his first job was at Ingraham’s Auto Electric on Hospital Lane in the Battery Maintenance Department, and then at Kelly Motors Company, which later became ABC Motor Co.

The son of Andrew (Dud) and Isadora Maynard, Charles Maynard’s earliest memories were filled with both the ideals and the struggles of nation building; the transforming love of country, the virtues of service and the kinds of hope and pride that can strengthen a whole people. When he was elected to the House of Assembly in 2007 for the people of Golden Isles, he realised the fullness of the many national ideals that shaped his early years.

A TIME TO BE BORN It was a beautiful day on September 23th 1933 when a thrilling sound was heard, announcing the arrival of a beautiful baby girl to the parentage of the late Bruce and Alice Richards, whom, they christened Louise Alice. Louise was the apple of their eyes, being the last of ten children.
