“Life is not measured by the years you live, but by the quality of life where there is joy and happiness shared to all with whom one comes in to contact with.”

In the quaint settlement of Adelaide Village, a beautiful baby girl was born to Mr. Samuel Smith (pre-deceased) and Mrs. Edna Smith nee Cleare (pre-deceased) on December 16th, 1948.

"Mimi", as she was affectionately called, had an extremely humble beginning.  She was the third child born to her parents and the oldest girl. Often times she was like the mother to her siblings whom she took the time to rare as her own. Her education was short lived, as she had to assist her mom at home.  However, she was blessed with 'mothers- wit'.  Because of this gift, she did everything exceptionally well; from nurturing, to cooking and to keeping her surroundings immaculately clean.

Anyone who knew and came to know Mimi loved her. She was plain speaking and no non-sense. However, she had a heart made of gold. She would give you the clothing of her back if she had to.

Mimi lived a full life. She would never tire of working. She was never a person acquainted with sickness either. So on the morning of December 2nd, 2016, was a shocker to everyone. Leading up to this moment, Mimi complained of gas pains in her stomach which lead her to seek medical attention with her physician on the day of December 1st, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. She was given good news at the end of her visit. After which, she stopped to pay Cheriese a visit at work and from there she traversed home.

Once she got home, she made herself comfortable, spoke with her children Cindy and Cheriese, and grandson Samuel, Jr. she decided to call it a night. Not knowing that it would have been the last time that she would have spoken to or seen any of us. It is believed that during the course of the night she decided that her body had bare enough and went on to rest in Our Heavenly Fathers arms.
