Kenyon Ormand was born in New Providence on December 21, 1960 to the late Samuel and Julia Thompson. He was the tenth of eleven children.

He received his education at St. Thomas More and Bishop Leonard High.

Ken was a quiet and very inquisitive child and it didn’t take long for us to realize how talented and creative he was. He was interested in poetry and even penned a few of his own.  Ken was very passionate about Junkanoo and spent countless hours pasting beautiful costumes. He also enjoyed the game of basketball and was never at a loss for words when it came to politics.

Ken’s love of good food was no secret, and he also loved to cook. When he wasn’t cooking, he would have no problem judging other relatives’ dishes, and there was an ongoing debate about who made the best dishes.

Ken was always ready and willing to help. He thought of himself as a superior handyman, and did odd jobs for his family and friends.

He always had a huge grin waiting for anyone who visited the home he shared with our dearly departed mother, whom he took wonderful care of.

Ken was genuine and kind. He will be missed.
