Karlton Leon was born on February 24, 1980 to the proud parents of Jeremiah “Jerry” Hepburn and Carolyn Ann Miller-Hepburn, on the beautiful Island of New Providence in the Bahamas.

Karly as he was affectionately known, spent his childhood and adolescent years in the Carmichael Road area of New Providence.  He attended Phase One Pre-school, Carmichael Road Primary School and the S. C. McPherson High School.

Upon leaving high school Karlton sought vocational training at the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) in the Tile Laying.

Through the years, Karly was able to secure numerous jobs at several of the Hotel properties in Nassau; in the Food and Beverage arena.  However the Hotel and hospitality field was not his first love.  Operating Heavy Duty equipment was.

Karly was able to able to experience his dream in the Heavy Duty Equipment Industry when he met and was able to be mentored by Elpacco “Pacco” Coakley.  Karly excelled in this field.  So much so that the experts came to the Bahamas to assist him in expanding his knowledge in the field.  He was also able to experience sharing his talent by working on the Island of Bimini, laying sidewalks and doing excavations.

Karly enjoyed his time with his mother Carolyn with whom he enjoyed a special bond; and his brother J. J., who despite the siblings scrabbles ride, rose and would die each for the other.

Karly’s greatest love and commitment however was his children Karlisha and Karlton II, whom he loved unconditionally.  He supported and encouraged them to be who they are and the best In whatever they desired; and never to quit.

In the early hours of November 11, 2016, Karlton heard the voice of the Lord, and in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Princess Margaret Hospital, Karlton took his last breath.  Passing into God’s hands.
