On the beautiful day of November 29th, 1919 Ina Beatrice Harvey affectionately called “Ma”,was born to Margret and Dougal Stephenson of South Caicos Island. She spent her early years in South Caicos and then moved to Matthew Town Inagua, for a period of time working with the Morton’s as a housekeeper. Ina then started sewing which became a passion for her; she sewed for various types of garments for all occasions. After spending many years in Inagua she moved to Nassau, in her early fifties where she continued her dream as a seamstress. Her hobbies were sewing, traveling and babysitting and also faithful member to her Church.

Ina was also a member Aurora Household of Ruth #26 of the Grand United Order of Odd Fellows in America and Jurisdiction for more than 60 years. She served with distinction and held a office of Worthy Shepherd and senior Junior Steward. She was a great worker, contributor and supporter. She always volunteer her daughter Marsha macaroni and other dishes. She loved to participate in the annual Peter Odgeu Day Anniversary in May and the candle light service in December. She traveled abroad to many B.N.C’s. She was the oldest member of the household of Ruth and because of her faithfulness, she received to honor of Honorary Past District Grand Most Noble Governor (H.P.D.G.N.M.G) with voice and vote.

Ma was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt who cared daily for her family. She was a woman worthy of praise full of courage and a friend you can depend on. Ma was admitted into the hospital for a period of time. On Wednesday March 22nd 2017 she was discharged and on Thursday 23rd March 2017 at 1pm Ma was called home to meet with The Lord, ending her life’s journey. The memories of this precious Gem will always linger in the hearts of her loved ones.
