A time to be born
October 21, 1937 was a very special day for Alphonso and Emma Louise Johnson in Gregory Town, Eleuthera. They were the proud parents of Bernard Gregory Johnson. He was given the name by Bishop Steven Donahue from New York.

A time for Education
Bernard began his formal education at the Gregory Town All Age School. At the age of about 18 he joined his parents in Nassau. He started to work at John’s Shoe Store for a while. He then moved to Kelly’s Lumber Yard for many years until the store closed. He then went to work at Premier Importers until he retired.

Late in Bernard’s life, he met and married a young lady, Laurie Brennen. After five beautiful years together Laurie died in 2006.

A time to move on
On Saturday, March 25 at about 2:10pm Bernard was taken to the hospital. On Thursday, March 30 he was admitted to the hospital. Bernard went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 1.
